The International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA) is a strategic opportunity to drug regulatory authorities to become closer, discuss trends and challenges, but also to share solutions found at different parts of the globe. ICDRA provides a forum to determine priorities for action in national, regional and international regulation of medicinal products. The Pre-ICDRA conference offers a unique opportunity for industry to engage in this discussion. At the end of the day, regulatory authorities, WHO and industry, all benefit from the regulatory convergence facilitated by ICDRA.
I am very pleased to invite you to the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, our former national capital, in order to join us at the 16th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA).
The conference will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 26-29 August 2014 at Sofitel Copacabana Hotel. In conjunction with the 16th ICDRA, a Pre-Conference entitled “Ensuring Quality and Safety of Biosimilars for Patients Worldwide” will take place at the same location on 24-25 August 2014. The ICDRA PRE-CONFERENCE is a forum open to the drug regulators, pharmaceutical industry, academia, non-governmental and international organizations. The ICDRA conference itself is restricted to governmental officials and regulators.
The conference provides DRUG REGULATORY AUTHORITIES of WHO Member States with a forum to meet and discuss ways to strengthen collaboration. Thus, it contributes to regulatory convergence and to the improvement of the quality, safety and efficacy of medicinal products globally.
Once again, I look forward to welcoming you in Rio. I hope we have a very fruitful discussions, as well as interesting workshops and plenaries, combined with some social activities and events in order for you to have a little taste of Rio de Janeiro and of Brazil!
